When Stock Sizes Stop Working
A big box door arrives in a range of widths with an adjustable channel to swallow the difference. That works right up until your opening is a corner, a five sided neo-angle, a walk-in with a return panel, or anything where two pieces of glass have to meet each other cleanly with no wall between them. It also stops working when the bathroom is simply not a standard width, which is common across Center Line. These houses were built quickly, finished individually, and remodeled more than once since, so walls have moved and openings are their own size. We build the enclosure to whatever is in front of us. Panel sizes, hinge and clip placement, notches around the tile edge and the shower head, all of it comes off the measurement we take standing in your bathroom.
The process is not complicated but it has an order that matters. We come out and measure the finished opening, meaning after the tile is set and grouted. We check plumb at several heights on every wall the glass will touch, level the curb or the pan, and note where studs and blocking sit. Then we fabricate in house. Every hole and notch in tempered glass has to be made before the glass is tempered, which is why nobody can adjust a panel with a drill on install day. The numbers have to be right the first time. When the glass is ready, our own crew sets the panels, plumbs the hinges, fits the seals and cleans up behind themselves.

Corner And Neo-Angle
Two walls, two fixed panels and a door that still has to close square in the middle. Corner and neo-angle enclosures ask more of the measurement than any other build, because a small error on one wall shows up magnified at the far edge of the other. We template carefully and fabricate to those exact numbers.
Glass To Glass Joints
Where panel meets panel with no wall between them, the joint is the whole job. Clips and hinges made for glass to glass work carry the load and hold the angle steady. Done right you get a crisp seam and a door that swings true. Done casually you get a gap you stare at every day.
Walk-In Panels
One fixed panel with an open entry, sometimes with a short return to keep spray off the floor. It is a clean look and easy to live with, and it fits more Center Line bathrooms than people expect once the layout gets planned around where the shower head actually points.
Working Alongside Your Other Trades
We build and set glass. Tile, waterproofing and plumbing belong to other trades, and knowing exactly where our part starts keeps your remodel moving. The one thing worth planning early is the timing of the measure. If we take numbers before the tile is on, the finished opening will not match what we cut, so the measure happens after tile and grout are done and the walls sit in their final position. Ask your tile setter to keep the walls as plumb as the framing allows and to hold the curb level, since small wins there save you visible wedges later. If you want the shower head, the valve or a niche to line up with a glass edge, say so before anybody builds anything.
The glass menu is the same one we show for any enclosure, but on a multi panel build the choices carry more weight because there is simply more surface to look at. Clear keeps the room bright. Low iron drops the green tint, which is obvious on a big panel and easy to miss on a small one. Satin frosted and rain textured buy privacy without making the shower feel dark. Metro Detroit hard water works on every one of them, so ask about easy-clean glass while we are standing in your bathroom together. Hardware in matte black, brushed gold, chrome and nickel is out on the wall at the showroom, along with more than those.

When should you measure during my remodel?
After the tile is set and grouted, and after the pan or curb is finished. Glass gets cut to the walls you end up with, not the walls you framed. Measuring too early is the single most common reason an enclosure ends up with gaps in it. Let your other trades finish their work, then call us and we will come take the numbers.
Do you handle the tile and plumbing too?
No. Tile, waterproofing and plumbing are other trades and we are straight with people about that. We measure, fabricate and install the glass and its hardware. Most of our customers already have a tile setter and a plumber lined up, and we work around their schedule. Getting the sequence right is usually all the coordination a job really needs.
Can you build around a bench, a niche or an odd angle?
Usually, yes. Notches, angles and unusual heights are normal on custom work. What we need is an accurate picture of the finished space, which is why we measure in person rather than over the phone. If a layout is not going to work, we will say so at the measure and show you what will, before anything gets cut.
