Then there is the water. What comes out of the tap around here is hard, and hard water is rough on shower glass. Minerals dry in place, build up, and eventually etch into the surface, and at that point no amount of scrubbing brings the panel back. Easy-clean glass helps by giving the water less to grab onto. Does water stay in without a bottom track?
It should, if the door is hung right. Water leaves a shower low and slow, not sideways, so the pitch of your pan and the position of the head matter more than a metal sill does. We set the panel to swing outward, keep the gap at the bottom tight to the tile, and use a sweep sized to your opening. Where a curbless or unusually shallow pan makes that a gamble, we say so at the measure.
What if my bathroom is too tight for a swing?
Then we tell you at the measure. Some rooms simply do not have the arc, and forcing a swing into one of them gets you a door you resent. Two good options exist. A narrower door set into a fixed glass panel shrinks the arc without shrinking the opening, and rolling glass on a track needs no clearance at all. We would rather point you at the style that works in your room than sell you a door that fights the furniture.
