Common questions.
Do you have to replace my bathtub?
No. A tub enclosure mounts to the tub and the walls you already have. We do not remove tubs, and we do not do plumbing or tile work. What we do is measure your existing tub, build glass that fits it exactly, and install that glass with our own crew. The tub stays right where it is.
Sliding panels or a hinged screen, which is better?
It depends on the room. Sliding bypass panels never swing out, so they win in a narrow bathroom where floor space is tight. A hinged screen leaves most of the tub deck open, which is easier if you bathe children or need to lean in and clean. We will walk the room with you at the measure and give you a straight recommendation.
Will glass really keep water off the floor better than a curtain?
Yes, in most cases by a wide margin. Glass does not billow, cling, or gap at the ends the way fabric and vinyl do, and the panels overlap or seal at the joints. On a bypass unit, water runs down the glass and straight back into the tub. You may still see a little at the very ends, which is normal on any tub enclosure.
How do I keep tub glass from getting cloudy?
Oakland County water is hard, and the minerals it carries are what leave that cloudy film. Keep a squeegee in the bathroom and give the glass ten seconds after each shower. That habit alone does most of the work. Ask us about easy-clean coated glass at the measure, since it makes the film much slower to build and easier to wipe away.
