Why not just buy a door off the shelf?
You can, and for a perfectly square opening it might be fine. Very few real bathrooms are perfectly square, and older Center Line homes have had decades to settle. A stock unit deals with that using a wide frame and extra caulk. Custom glass is cut to your actual measurements, so the fit does the work instead of the caulk, and the finished opening looks intentional.
How long does the install take?
That depends on your opening and the setup you choose, so we will give you a straight answer at the measure once we have seen it. What we can tell you now is that the schedule is not held up by anyone outside this family. We measure, we fabricate the glass in house, and our own crew installs it, so there is no outside shop or subcontracted installer in the middle.
Do you have to drill into my tile?
Usually, yes. Most enclosures anchor through the wall surface into framing or blocking behind it, and heavy 3/8 inch tempered glass needs something solid to hang on. It is normal work and it is done carefully, with the anchor points chosen back at the measure rather than improvised. We will show you where the hardware lands before we start, so nothing is a surprise.
Can I see the glass and hardware first?
Yes, and we would rather you did. We bring real samples to the in-home measure so you can look at glass and finishes in your own bathroom light, which is not the same as showroom light or a phone screen.
