Our crew finds the solid backing behind your tile and sets the hinges into it, then hangs the panel and checks that it swings true and settles closed on its own. Seals along the edges and a sweep at the bottom keep water where it belongs. On frameless hinged work, the standard is 3/8 inch tempered safety glass, thick enough to hang square and stay that way.

Enough that the panel opens fully without hitting your vanity, your toilet, or the bathroom door. There is no single number, because it depends on how wide the glass is and where it is hinged. That is what the free in-home measure is for. We stand in your bathroom, check the arc the door will travel, and if the room is genuinely tight we will say so and talk through other layouts.
Do hinged shower doors leak?
Not when they are built and set correctly. A hinged door is sealed along its edges and carries a sweep at the bottom, so water runs back into the pan instead of onto your floor. These doors are typically set to swing outward, which keeps the wet face of the glass over the shower. Getting the seals and the fit right is the install crew's job, and that crew is our own.
Does a hinged door have to be frameless?
No. A door on hinges can be frameless, semi-frameless, or set in a frame. Frameless is the cleanest look and uses 3/8 inch tempered safety glass. A framed hinged door is more budget-friendly and more forgiving in an older opening. Will hard water spot a hinged door too?
