Usually not. The new glass is built to the finished opening you already have, which means the tile, the curb, and the pan generally stay put. We take the measurements, fabricate to them, pull the old unit, and set the new one. Tile, plumbing, and steam-generator work belong to other trades, so nothing about your walls or your water lines gets opened up for this.
My glass looks cloudy even after I clean it. Why?
Hard water. The mineral load in the water around here does not simply sit on the surface as a film. Given enough time it works into the glass and leaves it permanently dull, and at that point cleaner will not bring it back while scrubbing harder only scratches. It is one of the most common reasons a homeowner here puts in new glass. Ask about easy-clean glass when we measure.
