What happens to my tile when the old frame comes off?
That is the slowest part of the day, on purpose. The frame is anchored through the tile and bonded to it, so the silicone bead gets cut and the anchors back out gradually rather than everything being levered off at once. The new enclosure generally lands on the same footprint and covers the old holes. Our crew pulls enclosures week in and week out, which is a very different thing from doing it once.
Will frameless work in a small older bathroom?
Often, yes, and small rooms tend to benefit most. Frameless drops the metal out of your sightline so the glass reads as one uninterrupted plane. The catch is that the walls and the curb have to carry the hardware, and that is a call we make standing in your bathroom instead of over the phone. My glass is clean and still looks foggy. What is that?
At that stage it is no longer dirt. Hard water leaves mineral behind every time the surface dries, and given enough years the deposit etches down into the glass. Cleaner cannot lift something that has become part of the surface. That is the point where scrubbing stops paying off and new glass starts making sense. Squeegee new panels and they stay ahead of it. Easy-clean glass is available too.
How long will the bathroom be tied up?
The old enclosure usually comes out and the new one goes in on the same visit, and the room is only occupied while the crew is working in it. After that the silicone needs time to cure before water hits it, and the crew gives you the exact wait before they load up.
